Suicide is the second-leading cause of death for young people ages 15-19 in America today. Suicide kills teens 3 to 6 times more often than homicide. This website, the Yellow Ribbon Project, contains stories from teenagers who have either been close to suicide or who have dealt with the suicide of a friend or loved one. It also has a huge library of links to resources on coping strategies, warning signs, help groups and survivor support groups. Sometimes just knowing that thousands of other people are going through what you're going through can be a tremendous comfort, and it can help you remember that depression is something you go through, it's not forever. Problems are temporary. Suicide is NOT a solution.
